LYT
TIL RADIO FRA DANMARK
og fra resten af verden
Niels
Jørgen Thøgersen
Alle
Javel, man
altsammen.
Men
Man
skal anskaffe sig en såkaldt Internet radio.
Den ”fodres” via internettet. Enten via dit trådløse WiFi net, hvis du
hedder Robert’s Stream 83i. Du kan læse
mere om den på denne hjemmeside:
http://www.robertsradio.co.uk/Products/Internet_radios/STREAM83i/index.htm
(eller
bare skriv Robert’s Stream 83i Internet radio i Google).
Apparatet
verden.
Man
+ fragtomkostninger.
Rigtig
go’ fornøjelse!

NAME: About
WI-FI
DATE: July 29, 2011
MAIN FACTS: Short facts about Wi-Fi and how and
where to use it
-
Wi-Fi means Wireless Fidelity. It is a standard, which is used world-wide
by the Wi-Fi Alliance. About 800
million products are produced every year using Wi-Fi. It connects products like computers,
smartphones, printers, cameras, faxes etc. by wirelss connections. The
signal has to come from a hotspot / access point with access to the
Internet . This spot should be no longer than 65 m away ( indoor a shorter
distance ). More than 4 million public hotspots exist today. And millions of private hotspots can be
found everywhere. These hotspots
can either be open or they can be protected by a password.
-
Public hotspots are often offered by public libraries. Most Danish
libraries give free access to the Internet via WiFi. See this link ( in
Danish ): http://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folkebibliotek It is the same in many other
countries.
-
Many countries
have a national overview of free hotspots: The one for Germany is here: http://www.hotspot-locations.de/
-
Many cities
offer free WiFi hotspots in areas of their city. In the US many major
cities are covered with WiFi. Minneapolis was the first city to introduce
it. Many cities in California followed.
In Europe more and more cities have taken the same decision. London
will have city-wide WiFi by 2012. http://linearfix.wordpress.com/2011/03/28/londons-browsing-wifi-hotspots-everywhere-including-underground-by-2012/
-
Many more cities in Europe are developing a
network of free Wi-Fi hotspots:
·
Milano: http://milano.tonight.eu/free_wi_fi
·
Rome: http://www.wificafespots.com/wifi/city/IT--Rome
·
Paris: http://goparis.about.com/od/gettingaround/a/paris_wifi_hotspotsfree.htm

·
Helsinki: http://ptp.hel.fi/wlan/index_en.html
-
Free WiFi is also more and more offered by hotels, cafes and restaurants
around Europe. Here is an overview,
which is certainly not complete, as new hotspots are added every day: http://www.wififreespot.com/europe.html
-
In Copenhagen
you can see an overview here:
http://www.wificafespots.com/wifi/city/DK--Kobenhavn
-
A special free WiFi service in public transport was started some
years ago in the Underground in Copenhagen and in a number of railways
across the country. It is paid by
publicity. It is called Commute Media.
You can read more about it here:
http://www.commutemedia.com/frontpage.aspx
-
An Irish-American company called Free Hotspot is also offering free
access via Wi-Fi to the Internet in many places: http://www.free-hotspot.com/index.php?lang=en
-
Millions of private citizens have WiFi access. Normally it is protected
by a password. If you get this password you can use your smartphone tablet
PC or computer for free, when you visit them.

SOCIAL MEDIA
Date : February 8, 2011
Main points:
Social media
are
media
for
social interaction
, using highly accessible and scalable communication techniques. Social media is the use of web-based and mobile technologies to turn communication into interactive dialogue. Andreas Kaplan and Michael Haenlein also define social media as "a group of Internet-based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of
Web 2.0
, which allows the creation and exchange of
user-generated content
."
Businesses
also refer to social media as
consumer-generated media
(CGM). A common thread running through all definitions of social media is a blending of technology and social interaction for the co-creation of value.
This is what Wikipedia says about social media. And I agree to that definition.
Why should I as a public communicator be interested in social media ? Isn’t it just a sort of non-serious entertainment, which steals a lot of time for everybody?
The simple answer is: NO – NO – NO !
If you want to be sure that you are present where people are today, then you have to use social media. It’s as simple as that.
But isn’t a good and perhaps even interactive website enough ? Shouldn’t we first and foremost concentrate on developing and looking after that?
No, this is not enough today. It is important to have a good and up-to-date website. Of course. But it has to be backed up by different social media. Or the other way around. And even if you for whatever reason have a bad website you still have to use an intelligent mix of social media.
So – in practical terms – what can you use Social Media for ?
-
To Engage – To Involve citizens
And not only one way ( like Obama’s Be the first to know ) But in particular two ways. Get people on their toes to get actively involved. Make them feel ownership to the topic you are dealing with. Don’t be afraid to loose some control. Show people that you are really interested in their views and actions. Be active yourself. At all times.
-
To Mobilise citizens.
Mobilise them for a clear purpose – for actions which are easy to understand. The role of social media in the on-going Arab revolutions is evident. Before that we saw similar cases of mobilizing people in Iran, Moldova and Belarus. You can also use social media to mobilize people in a local area.
-
To Inspire citizens.
Not least in political campaigns. Like Obama’s YES WE CAN. Known worldwide.
-
To Seek Advice.
Politicians do that – even directly from plenary sessions in the middle of a debate. Organisations do that. And why shouldn’t public institutions do it. There is so much expertise and so much commitment out there – why not profit from that. Personally I use LinkedIn and often also Facebook and Twitter for that purpose. With great success.
-
To Give Information.
Though this easily becomes one-way web 1.0 operations it can still be used.
-
Most important of all:
Always use an intelligent MIX of social media.
Use one social media to back up other social media. Concrete example: Make Breaking News on YouTube. And inform all your contacts and friends on Facebook, Twitter, etc. 5 minutes before that they should look at YouTube, if they “want to be the first to know”. And people love to know first. In this way you also bypass the filter of the media. Instead of you running after the media the media will run after you. If your Breaking News and other initiatives are worth running after
J
-
Make sure that all your social media are also available on mobile
devices
( such as smartphones, normal mobile phones, PDAs, etc. )
The number of mobile devices have in many countries bypassed the number of normal computers – a trend which most certainly will continue.
-
Very important point too:
Be active on the blogs and social media of others too.
Select the most visited ones ( from media, from politicians, from organizations ) and take active part in the discussions and networking there too.
-
Online training in social media
:
We should in my view give priority to efficient training, not least online training in the use of social media in public communication. I will at the workshop give information on a number of existing possibilities and make suggestions to the next steps
-
Websites and other literature on social media in public communication
:
I will make an overview for the workshop.
Another aspect of great importance for the efficient use of social media is to be able to know in REAL time what others ( media, blogs, etc. ) are saying and writing.
The Club of Venice has already created a special online monitor called
LIVING EUROPE
for this purpose. It monitors every ten minutes more than 4.000 online media in 28 European countries. And by a simple click you can yourself machine translate any article into 20 different languages. The translation into English is still the best one. It is all free and available to everybody on the web.
Address:
www.livingeurope.eu
The next step is that we will also launch in the very near future a new free, online monitor, which will constantly follows as many
websites and blogs of European politicians and national politicians
in the 27 member states of the EU. The purpose is to make it easy for everybody to follow the debate in all countries – and again with a built-in machine translation from all languages. And in this way contribute to creating a more lively European public space.
A pilot project is being tested at the moment.

F A C T S H E E T
EMNE: ENIRO / KRAK / MOSTRUP ‘s elektroniske navnebaser
DATO: Den 29. juni 2010
Men pludselig lukkede TDC tjenesten uden yderligere forklaring.
De findes her: ENIRO: www.eniro.dk
KRAK: www.krak.dk
MOSTRUP: www.mostrup.dk
9)

Gmail

MAIN FACTS:
Main characteristics and functions of Gmail
-
Gmail is Google’s e-mail service. It is free and available everywhere. It was launched on April 1, 2004 and is now used my millions and millions of users around the world.
-
In Germany and in the UK it is called GoogleMail.
-
As it is a webmail service the storage of the mail is with Google, not on your computer. You have 7,4 GB at your disposal free of charge. And you can buy more storage, if you need it.
-
You get Gmail here:
www.mail.google.com
Very easy to set up. Just follow the instructions
-
Your Gmail is available everywhere and from any computer ( on condition that you can remember the login and the password you have selected )
-
When you receive a reply to a mail you have sent the answer comes together with your original mail ( very, very practical )
-
Gmail’s spamfilter is extremely efficient. You hardly ever get any spam. At rare occasions the filter is so efficient that a few regular mails end up in your spam box. So have a look now and then in the box, before you empty it
-
You can also read your Gmail messages on your mobile phone:
http://www.google.com/mobile/mail/
-
If you buy the new NEXUS ONE smart phone from Google the buttons on the front will give direct and immediate access to Gmail and other Google services:
http://www.google.com/phone/?locale=en_US&s7e
=
-
It is now also possible to send SMS messages from Gmail:
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=106015
-
Sending a mail by error ? We all know it. In Gmail you can click on the button Unsend up to 5 seconds after you clicked on Send. Then it will come back
See more here:
http://email.about.com/od/gmailtips/qt/undo_send.htm
-
What comes next from Google on Gmail, etc. ? You can follow that directly – and even try
new possibilities in Google Labs:

Always exciting stuff

Communications 2.0 tool
G O O G L E D O C S
A free, time-saving and collaborative tool
Why continue to waste a lot of time in sending e-mails with your texts to one or many people for comments and corrections ? Why have all the trouble to ensure a proper updating of lists and overviews ? Why prepare your presentations all alone or through troublesome forth-and-back correspondence with others ?
GOOGLE DOCS can solve it all for you:
http://docs.google.com
This is Google’s free and online service, which in many ways fulfils the same functions as the Microsoft Office package does.
You can very easily write and/or upload your texts to this service and word directly on-line with others – also in real time, if you want to.
The person or people “at the other end” can work directly in your text, your presentation or your spreadsheet – and add, correct or delete in it.
YOU decide whom your partner(s) is/are. YOU invite. And you can invite ONE – or MANY.
At the end of the process – which if needed can be very short – you have a text, presentation or table, which everybody has contributed to and agree to.
Some call it CROWDSOURCING or OUTSOURCING TO THE CROWD.
It is very
easy to use
. Very
time saving.
Very
efficient and reliable.
The
Obama campaign
used it a lot it its permanent work with local activists.
HOW TO DO ?
1)
Open an account at
http://docs.google.com
2)
If you already have a Gmail account with Google you can use your login and password from there. If not, create your own new ones
3)
Now you are ready to start
4)
Click NEW ( to the left )
5)
Different Options:
a)
DOCUMENT:
·
You write YOUR TEXT ( as in Word ) or you copy/paste a text
·
Now Click on SHARE
·

-
either as Collaborators ( meaning that they can write )
-
or as Viewers ( meaning they can see, but not write )
·
Write their e-mail addresses in the box
·
Write in the following box what you want them to do
·
Send
·
Wait to see their suggestions on-line – or open later
b)
PRESENTATION:
·
This service is very much like Microsoft’s Power Point
·
The practical steps are more or less as under chapter a)
c)
SPREADSHEET:
·
This is the service which works like Microsoft’s EXCEL
·
The practical steps: follow more or less those in chapter a)
6)
Many other functions in Google Docs:
·
The easiest way is to try them out step by step
·
Please, give me feedback on this Manual – and on points to add

Se her:
The Network Service LINKED IN
Networking is today the most efficient way of working. Having direct access
to a lot of people worldwide with a lot of professional experience and knowledge is immensely important for any of us.
This is exactly what the free network service LINKED IN
is all about. Click here: http://www.linkedin.com/
If you want to join this service you have to fill out a simple form
, which appears automatically after you click. You also have to choose your own personal password
. Filling out your Personal Profile
is very important. The clearer and the more specific you are in describing yourself and your activities and interests the easier it is for other LINKED IN members to find you, if they want to ask you professional questions or to share information with you.
After doing that you are a member and immediately on board.
LINKED IN has today more than 25 million members
around the world. And this number increases every day.
How do you invite your contacts and friends to join LINKED IN? On your opening page you go to INVITATIONS
and then to SEND INVITATION
. And here you write the names and e-mail addresses of those people you want to invite.
You can also search for names in the Search Box
. In this way you can see, if the person you are looking for is already a LINKED IN member. Then you can then invite her or him to join YOUR personal network too (through the box the to right of the screen).
If you receive and accept an invitation from one of your friends or contacts to join you will immediately
get access to her/his contacts
. And not only that – you will also get access to the contacts of
these contacts.
This means in practice that as a member you have access to your own contacts ( layer 1 ), to the friends of your contacts ( layer 2 ) and also to the friends of those friends ( layer 3 ).
To give you a concrete example of the strength of this network I can tell you that I today have 357 direct contacts, 14.600 contacts in the second layer and 1.120.100 contacts
in the third.
It is important to underline that it is not only the number of contacts
, which is an important point. It is in particular crucial that you ensure that the friends and contacts you invite have
profiles near to your activities and interests
. If they have that there is a very good chance that their contacts ( in layer 2 ) also share your interests and background. This is the way to build a really forceful network, which can be of immense use to you every day.
And what can you use LINKED IN for
? In the Search Box
( in the upper part of the screen when you have your own list of contacts on the screen) you can write a Name
you are looking for? Or a geographical location
, from where you look for contacts or expertise? Or a problem/question
, where you want to find an expert. The search engine will then search among all your 1st – 2nd - and 3rd layer contacts. And immediately give you the answer. This means that the more 1st level contacts you have yourself the more useful LINKED IN will be to you
.
The LINKED IN also has a special Answer Service
. You find it on your personal start page. If you write and send a question in that Box you will most certainly get replies from several people throughout the whole LINKED IN service. Very, very powerful instrument too.
LINKED IN is also very successful when you are looking for a new job
.
Afraid of Spam or unwanted mail? There is no Spam in this service
. And my personal experience with LINKED IN is that you only get mails from other members, when it is really relevant and interesting.
Easy. And free. And you can invite as many contacts as you want. Try to invite many different contacts in as many countries as possible. The more useful LINKED IN will be to YOU – and to all your contacts too.
Some people say: I don’t have time for that sort of network. This is wrong. It does not take time. It saves you a lot of time
. It makes you more efficient
.
As CNN said recently about this service: If you are not LINKED IN you are linked out !
And one thing more: If you some day want to quit the service again it is also very, very easy.
WELCOME! And GOOD LUCK !

FLICKR FOTO ALBUM
